A Note from Kelley:
The Handbell Ministry at Trussville FUMC has been very busy this year.  Ring Refresh 2016 started the year in August.  Since then lots of ringing filled the air including ringing for the 8:30/11:00 Sanctuary, Combined and Grace Vision Services, the Veterans’ Day Celebration Service, Lessons and Carols, the Live Nativity, the Maundy Thursday Service and the Spring Concert.   The ringing was not limited to the confines of Trussville FUMC.  Joyful Jesus Ringers spread lots of joy and happiness Christmas Chiming for some of our Shut-Ins.  Jubilant Ringers journeyed to  St. Vincent’s East and rang for the Blessing of the Nativity and Christmas Tree and attended the two-day Central Alabama Handbell Festival.  All of this was made possible because of extremely talented and dedicated ringers surrounded by a very loving and supportive church family.  Many thanks to the ringers for all their hard work and faithfulness and to our church family for your tremendous support.   Special thanks to all who attended the Spring Handbell Concert last Sunday and to those who helped with the setup and takedown.
Note: Wednesday, May 3rd was our last rehearsal for both Jubilant Ringers and Joyful Jesus Ringers until we start back in the fall. We will begin an introductory handbell class in September for adults and youth. This is a great time to learn handbells!

The Handbell Ministry of Trussville FUMC offers four opportunities for ringing and chiming for children through adults. All choirs are open to anyone who wants to share their love for God and their musical talents with the congregation at Trussville FUMC and for others in our neighborhood. To join one or more of the Handbells/Handchimes Choirs or for more information about them, please contact Beth Burden (beth@fumctrussville.com 205-655-3259) or Kelley Clegg Neal (kelleynote@gmail.com 256-738-3979).

Jubilant Ringers

Jubilant Ringers is an advanced level three octave Handbell Choir with emphasis on improvement of handbell/handchime ringing techniques, increased music reading skills and development of musical expression. Previous musical experience, particularly ringing experience, is necessary. Jubilant Ringers have attended the Central Alabama Handbell Festival several times. In 2012 they were featured as the Solo Handbell Choir during the Closing Concert at the Festival. Jubilant Ringers participate in special services during the year including the Live Nativity at Trussville FUMC. Chancel Chimes

Chancel Chimes is an entry level two octave Handbell Choir with emphasis on developing good handbell/handchime ringing techniques and music reading skills. It is open to all youth and adults in the area. No previous musical experience is necessary–only a desire to make music with handbells. Chancel Chimes was formed to ring with the Chancel Choir when they have an anthem that needs handbells as well as to provide music for other worship services. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m. in the Handbell Room (2nd floor above the Church Office). Kelley Clegg Neal is the Director.
