Children’s Ministry at FUMC Trussville
At Trussville First, our children’s ministry seeks to provide a loving and safe environment for everyone. We help prepare our children to go out into the world and share the Good News of Jesus Christ through biblical teachings that they can apply to everyday life.
Children play a huge role in the ministries of the church and are actively involved in worship. From serving as Acolytes in our traditional and blended worship services, playing Cherub bells and singing in the choir, to Sunday school, Wednesday Night LIVE and various special gatherings, we offer a variety of opportunities for Christian fellowship, growth and development.
Trussville First plays an active role around our community with several outreach ministries such as KidsFirst, Growing Kids Consignment Sale in the fall and spring, Vacation Bible School, Summer Camp, InsideOUT, and more!
Kids First, our weekday program open from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., offers a caring and safe environment for children ages 6 weeks through 4k. After school and summer care is provided for elementary age children through 5th grade with weekday drop off and pick up at Paine Elementary.
InsideOUT gets the church outside of its four walls and out into the community to reach elementary age children with fun events and activities while sharing the message of Jesus Christ.
Be sure to go to our Blog that offers the most up-to-date activities and events scheduled.

Three and Four year olds, 9:45 a.m.
Our three and four-year-olds meet in the Children Building (first floor) where they take part in Cokesbury’s “Grow, Proclaim, Serve” curriculum. Children learn favorite stories of the bible through storytelling, singing, crafts and play.
Kindergarten through 5th Grade, 9:45 a.m.
Elementary age children participate in Sunday school on the second floor of the Children/Youth Building.
At First Trussville, we believe children learn by attending worship with their parents. Children observe the congregation affirm their faith with The Apostles Creed and see their church family giving back to God through their tithes and offering. Before the sermon, a Children’s Moment lesson is taught. Children, age 3 through 2nd grade, are then invited to attend Children’s Church, located on the first floor of the Children’s Building. Children’s Church is every Sunday during the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 worship services.
During the school year, children ages 3 through 5th grade gather for mid-week fun and fellowship through music and bible study. We are so excited to have so many new families and children. We invite visitors and new members to join us on Wednesday nights. We have activities for all ages, including several Bible studies for parents.
