Advent Studies

A personal or family devotional or study is a great way to spend some time as we approach the Christmas season.

– “Writing the Christmas Story” – Jesus made such an impact that his followers talked for decades about what he taught and said. Then, in trying to explain more about who he was, they began to tell about his birth. We’ll read the stories together, and talk about what they meant then and what they mean now. Bring your Bible. Beginning Nov. 27, Sunday School hour, in the Training Room (downstairs Sunday School hallway). Led by Joey Butler.

– “Marry a Pregnant Virgin: Unusual Bible Stories for New and Curious Christians” – The Bible can sometimes be imposing and challenging. This book brings “fresh interpretations to old stories” for new understanding and inspiration. Hosted by the New Horizon class, on the main Sunday School hallway upstairs.

– “Because of Bethlehem” – Max Lucado loves Christmas, because it’s the time of year that people will wonder about the baby born in the manger. The stories included here will encourage, captivate and inspire you, but most importantly, they’ll point you towards the One worth celebrating. Hosted by the Pioneer Class, on the main Sunday School hallway upstairs.
