ALL Women of the Church – We NEED your participation in our next UMW FAITH in ACTION project!  We’re having a LEARNING TOYS SHOWER to benefit children, infant – 4K at the Lovelady Center, a Christ-centered transitional home in eastern Birmingham for 400 women in crisis and their children. Recently, the Health Department required the Lovelady Center to throw out their old, broken toys!  Some of us recently visited the beautiful children there, and their classrooms were almost BARE!  Stephanie Smith from the Lovelady Center will speak to us about the children in Lovelady’s Kidzone and Freedom Rains School.  Wed., 8/17 in the Pioneer classroom at 6 pm.  Bring a friend!  UMW Circle Six is hosting.  What KIND OF LEARNING TOY could you bring?  ANY NEW learn -and-play toys by Vtech, LeapFrog, Fisher Price, or Little Tykes.  Any wooden or plastic alphabet letters and numbers, puzzles, or other learning games.  Please No fabric toys, due to health concerns.  Let’s help these precious children!

UMW would like to give a BIG shout out of thanks to the Pioneer Class, the UMM, and the VBS children and parents who gave money and school supplies for the kids in need at the Lovelady Center’s Freedom Rains School.  We now have a collection bin so that the whole congregation can help donate school supplies for kids in need here in Trussville and at the Lovelady Center.  The collection bin is located under the John Wesley picture outside the Fellowship Hall.  ANY supplies for grades K-12 welcome!  Supplies needed include: notebooks, pencils, pens, scissors, glue, crayons, markers, colored pencils, rulers, small pencil sharpeners, folders, binders, backpacks, clorox wipes, baby wipes, kleenex.  You name it, they need it!  There will also be a community drive-by and drop-off collection in our front church parking lot on Sat., 8/20, 9 am – 12 noon.  Thank you for helping these children!
