We have all appreciated and enjoyed the beautiful flower arrangements that Pat Smith has provided over the years for our Sanctuary. Her special talent is a great gift, for which we are very thankful. We look forward to once again enjoying her beautiful floral creations, once she has fully recovered from her orthopedic challenges. Until further notice, flowers for the Sanctuary will be handled differently. If you have already paid for your flower arrangement, and given us your notice for the bulletin, you do not need to do anything further. If you have reserved a date, but not yet paid for the flowers, the cost will be $50. During this time, if you wish to place a flower order for the Sanctuary, please contact the Church secretary to reserve your date and place your notice in the bulletin, making payment at the time of reservation. Checks should be made payable to TFUMC. Please write “flowers” on the memo line of your check. If you have any questions, please contact the Church office. Thank you for sponsoring the Sanctuary flowers.

The Leisure Group will leave the back parking lot of the Church promptly at 9:00 am, on Tues., 5/23, for arrival at the American Village by10:00 am, (our lunch will be at 12:30 pm.)

Emmaus Cluster – Plan to join us on Tues., 5/23 at Clearbranch UMC, 8051 Glenn Rd, Trussville, AL 35173 at 6:30 pm. Bring a friend and a “snack type” finger food. We’ll join together for a special time of worship and fellowship.

Please note: Correction – we are participating with the North Alabama United Methodist Church Conference in their campaign called “Ministry With the Poor”. Each Church member is asked to give a minimum of $1 to participate in this campaign. To receive credit on your contribution statement, make your checks payable to TFUMC and write “Ministry With the Poor” on the memo line. The last date to donate is Sunday, May 28th. Thank you for your help.

We would like to invite all women to participate in our church-wide Bible study this summer which begins Wednesday, June 7th and ends July 19th. We will meet in the Pioneer Classroom at 6:15 p.m.

This summer’s study will be “Looking for Lovely” by Annie Downs. As Christians, we are not promised lives of ease. Often it takes just a small moment of beauty to regain hope and continue on when life is chaotic and unpredictable. Only when we learn to spot the lovely in the midst of hardship can we experience the transcendent peace of God that keeps us persevering when we want to give up.
In this 6 week study, Annie examines the ordinary people of the Bible, fishermen, farmers, musicians, and women – to discover how they sought beauty in their everyday lives to hold onto the hope of God’s perfect timing and how God makes everything beautiful in His time.

If you would like to participate in this study, please email Freda Shirah at dshirah630@charter.net or by texting or calling her at (205)515-7518. The cost of the participant’s book will be $15.00; the books will be available the first night of class.

This year Bro. Bill’s team will be working with teenagers in the community of Calderon. The team will be teaching the parables of Jesus in a Bible study, spending time in discussion and playing games. As part of the community outreach, we will be giving the teenagers care kits. If you would like to help you can put a kit together and bring it to Bro. Bill’s office. The kits cost approximately $30.00 each or you may make a contribution for the Ecuador Care Kits. If you make a contribution, please make the check payable to TFUMC and put “Ecuador Care Kit” on the memo line.
An example of this Care Kit is in the Transept (if you would like to see how to put one together.)
