Your Place in Ministry – April 16th

Note: We have monitors in the transept, front entrance by the fellowship hall and in the welcome center. Please do not turn off the power to any of our monitors, as they are on timers and it causes problems with the program. Thank you.

A note from Pat Smith…
Several orthopedic procedures seem to be in my future, the first one is scheduled in April. Being “ok” again is my prayer and being able to do one of my favorite things – arranging the Sanctuary flowers. Thank you so much for being a flower sponsor. Love in Christ, Pat Smith.

We have all appreciated and enjoyed the beautiful flower arrangements that Pat Smith has provided over the years for our Sanctuary. Her special talent is a great gift, for which we are very thankful. We look forward to once again enjoying her beautiful floral creations. During this period beginning mid-April, until further notice, flowers for the Sanctuary will be handled a little differently. If you have already paid for your flower arrangement, and given us your notice for the bulletin, you do not need to do anything further. If you have reserved a date, but not yet paid for the flowers, the cost will be $50. During this time, if you wish to place a flower order for the Sanctuary, please contact the Church secretary to reserve your date and place your notice in the bulletin, making payment at the time of reservation. Checks should be made payable to TFUMC. Please write “flowers” on the memo line of your check. If you have any questions, please contact Marsha Estes at 681-1132 or the Church office. Thank you for sponsoring the Sanctuary flowers.

LEISURE GROUP: Our next excursion will be April 25th to the Botanical Gardens.  We chose to go a month earlier than usual in hopes of seeing more of the beautiful roses.  Of course, we will eat at the Garden’s restaurant. Definite plans and arrangements will be given at a later date.  So..SAVE THE DATE!!!  If you have questions, please call Marie at 655-6911 or 835-9189.

Discovery Class 6th Annual Yard Sale will be Saturday, May 6th. We are seeking donations of items for the sale.  Funds raised will be used for missions and updates around the church. Questions:  Ann Mayhew (205) 478-2357 or Annie.Mayhew@bbva.com.

Church-wide Outing at Regions Field – Sunday, May 21st at 3 pm. Tickets are $10 each which includes lunch. There is a $40 family cap, (immediate family members only please.) We need you! Please join us each Sunday morning in the Conference Room to pray for our Pastors. We pray for about 5 minutes each Sunday at 8:15 AM or 10:45 AM. Thank you.

We will have a “Kids First” Combined Sunday service on Sunday, April 30th at 10 am in the Christian Life Center. Refreshments will be provided before the service. Mark your calendar and make plans to join us.

This year Bro. Bill’s team will be working with teenagers in the community of Calderon. The team will be teaching the parables of Jesus in a Bible study, spending time in discussion and playing games. As part of the community outreach, we will be giving the teenagers care kits. If you would like to help you can put a kit together and bring it to Bro. Bill’s office. The kits cost approximately $30.00 each or you may make a contribution for the Ecuador Care Kits. If you make a contribution, please make the check payable to TFUMC and put “Ecuador Care Kit” on the memo line. An example of this Care Kit is in the Transept (if you would like to see how to put one together.)
