Your Place in Ministry – February 19th

~All women are invited to attend the UMW Prayer and Action event for Homeless and Hospitalized Veterans on Mon., 2/20 at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall.  We will assemble gift bags and make prayer cards for the veterans, followed by a prayer time in the sanctuary.  Your circle leader will let you know the items to bring for the veterans’ gift bags.  The homeless veterans center on Old Springville Road needs all types of cleaning products, so please bring any kind or any size cleaning product to donate that night!  After refreshments and fellowship, we’ll conclude at 7:30 pm.  Don’t miss the first Prayer and Action gathering of 2017!  Everyone welcome, UMW members and guests!  We need your prayers and help for these veterans!

~Please join us on Tuesday, February 21 at 7 pm in the Sanctuary for the University of Montevallo Concert Choir in concert, featuring choirs from Hewitt-Trussville High School, Clay-Chalkville High School and Shades Valley High School. “Scripture in Community” Class – Deuteronomy: These Are The Words – New Bible study beginning February 12th. Moses’ last three sermons were crucial to the identity of Israel time and again: as she was set to enter the Promised Land of Canaan, in the revival under King Josiah (800 years later,) and on the return from exile in Babylon (another 200 years after that.) We’ll read the whole book and wrestle with the text together.  Sundays at 9:45 in the Training Room, CLC 1st Floor.
