SUNDAY – Oct. 16 at 4 PM – COME HEAR A LOVELADY SHARE HER POWERFUL TESTIMONY in the Fellowship Hall, and bring your old, well-loved BIBLES to donate to the Loveladies!  Women of the church, don’t miss this exciting BIBLE DONATION EVENT that will IMPACT LIVES for CHRIST! Invite your friends, sisters, moms, and daughters to attend!  OVER 100 WOMEN HAVE READ Miss Brenda and the Loveladies, and EVERYONE is INVITED to ATTEND!  Bibles may also be placed in the bin outside the Fellowship Hall now through Oct. 30th.  You may place a note inside your Bible to tell a favorite, meaningful passage.  Let’s fill that bin up with the Word of God!

UMW Faith in Action project: Christmas Bibles & Toys for Lovelady Kids  We want Lovelady Center children to receive new Bibles and toys this Christmas!  About 125 kids live in the Lovelady Center with their moms who are trying to piece together better lives after years of turmoil, often drug abuse and domestic violence. If you would like, you may donate $15 or more to purchase new children’s Bibles and toys for the Lovelady kids.  You may make your check payable to FUMC Trussville and write Bibles and Toys on the memo line, and place it in the offering plate.  Or, you may donate unwrapped, new toys in the bin outside the Fellowship Hall now through Oct. 30th.  Toys will go to the Lovelady Santa Shop where Lovelady moms can select Christmas gifts for their kids.

Please join us Sun., Oct. 23 for dinner in the Fellowship Hall. This is a fundraiser for our 2017 Ecuador Mission Trip. We will serve immediately following Sunday School and then again immediately following our 11:00 services. The menu will be: Chicken and Dressing, Green Beans, Coleslaw, Cranberry Sauce, Rolls, Tea and Homemade Desserts. We hope you will join us for a time of fellowship and a great way to raise money for this wonderful mission trip.

Join us Sat. morning Oct. 29 at Applebee’s in Trussville for our annual UMM fundraiser Pancake Breakfast from 7-10. Cost is $5. See any member of the Methodist Men for a ticket or show up at the door and we’ll sell you one.

CIRCLE 1 FUNDRAISER: Circle 1 will be taking orders from Oct. 1-30. We will purchase from Priester’s and pecans will be delivered before Thanksgiving. 1 lb. bags of halves are $11/pieces are $10.50. Order forms are in the Church office, the Sunday School classrooms, and at the Wed. night meals.

Come one come all to The Great Pumpkin Festival Sun., Oct. 30th starting at 3:30 p.m. out back in The Gardens. Hosted by the Discovery Class, families enjoy all sorts of pumpkin fun, trunk-or-treating, food, games, and more! Everyone is encouraged to wear family-friendly costumes. We’ll finish up at dusk with a Great Pumpkin favorite movie! Bring your lawn chairs and brings your friends for this fun family event for everyone!

REMINDER: Combined Worship Service on Sun., Oct. 30. Please join us for Brunch at 9 am prior to the service at 10 am in the Christian Life Center.

All Saints Sunday – We will celebrate All Saints Sun., Nov. 6 in all three services. In addition to remembering those of our congregation who have entered into the Church Eternal since last year’s All Saints Day, we will give everyone an opportunity to remember a loved one who has passed away at any time. Please email the name of the loved one you wish to remember, along with your name, to Candy Strickland at no later than Fri., Oct. 21. Thank you.

The Veterans’ Day Celebration Service is Nov. 6 at 6:00 pm in the Christian Life Center…Refreshments will follow in the Fellowship Hall.  Everyone is invited to bring some goodies for the refreshment table.  Please invite all the Veterans you know to attend.  Lots of music, fun, fellowship and more is in the works.  See you there!

Please come and join us for a community-wide prayer day on Nov. 7th for our nation. In the words of one of our founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin, at the Constitutional Convention on June 28, 1787, “I have lived, Sir, for a long time; and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see this Truth, that GOD governs in the Affairs of Men. And if a Sparrow cannot fall to the Ground without His Notice, is it probable that an Empire can rise without His Aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings that except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it” (Psalm 127:1.) The Church Sanctuary will be open from 7:00 am until 6:30 pm. Everyone is invited. Pray for strength, courage, peace, love, and Christian values throughout the country.

Operation Christmas Child. The youth and children ministries are teaming up to collect items for Operation Christmas Child. Our goal this year is to send 100 boxes. On Wed., Nov. 9th we will have a Packing Party after Soul Café at 6:15 p.m. in the CLC. Please go online to for a list of suggested items to pack in the Shoe boxes; please note the What NOT to pack items as well. Collection bins will be located by John Wesley and on the 1st floor of the Children’s Building. We will also take monetary donations to help with shipping the 100 boxes–please note Operation Christmas Child on your check.

Circle 6 will be hosting a FOOD DRIVE for TEAM on Wed., Nov. 16 during Wed. Night Soul Cafe. Please bring non-perishable donations at that time!

Calling all Mo s & Sons! We’re hosting a Drive-In Movie and Cardboard Car Show in the Christian Life Center for moms and sons, grandsons, and special ones (boys preschool thru 5th gr.) Sun., Nov. 13th from 3-5 p.m. Moms and Sons bring “cars” they’ve made at home from cardboard boxes. We’ll host a car show, enjoy a movie and munch on movie snacks! Cost is $5 per person. Please email if you plan on attending with how many so we can get an accurate headcount for snacks. Feel free to invite a friend.
